The first visit to the dentist is a big milestone. Not just for your little one, but for you, too. It’s completely normal to feel butterflies in your stomach, wondering how your child will react. However, from the moment you arrive, your family is our family.

Think of it as a Playdate, Not an Appointment
We’ve made our entire office feel intentionally less like a clinic and more like a playground so that we can turn”going to the dentist” into a fun adventure.
The Warm Welcome
Forget the cold, quiet waiting rooms you may have associated with the dentist. When you arrive at our office, your child will step into a world of color, murals, and interactive games. Whether they want to play with toys or hop on an iPad, they’ll have the time to settle in and see for themselves that this is a safe, happy place.
The "Tell-Show-Do" Introduction
When it’s time for the check-up, we use a method called “Tell-Show-Do.” We tell your child what we are going to do in a silly, easy-to-understand manner. We show them the tool (maybe touching it to their finger so they see it tickles). And, once they’ve warmed up to our team, we will start with their consultation.
You’re Part of the Team
We recommend you be with your child during their first exam, since your presence is likely their comfort zone. As they grow older and more confident, you can test having them come back on their own to build their independence, but there’s no rush. It’s a bridge we will cross together, only when you and your child are ready.

Helping Your Child (and You) Relax
Parents often ask us, “What should I say to them before we come?”
The best thing you can do is keep it light and breezy! Children are incredibly intuitive; if you are calm and happy, they will be too.
We Speak "Kid"
You don’t need to worry about explaining the scary stuff. We swap out words like “needle” or “drill” for “sleepy juice” and “whistling toothbrush.” We work hard to protect their imagination and keep the fear away.
A Note for siblings: To keep the environment calm and focused entirely on the patient, we ask that siblings hang out in our fun reception area with a supervising adult.
